One month down!!

Hey guys!!! Another week has gone byyyy! I’ve officially been a missionary for a month WHAT?!? ONLY 2 SEMANAS LEFT AQUI!! Although I have grown to I LOVE the CCM so so much and know I will miss it, I gotta say I am sooo STOKED for the field!! Haha this last month time has gone by slow and fast but I have grown so much closer to my Savior and His gospel. I can only imagine what these next 17 months will bring!!  But I seriously do love the CCM! It is like a spiritual/Spanish boot camp!! Personally I enjoy the spiritual side of things a lot more than the Spanish but it is all important and centered on our missionary purpose, to invite others to come unto Christ. I also love the CCM because I can always feel the presence of the Holy Ghost with me here. This week me and my companion got to teach Relief Society about the gift of the Holy Ghost! Ahhh we are SO SO lucky to be able to have the gift of the Holy Ghost who can give us personal revelation for our lives and confirm truth....

Halfway there!! Week 3!

HOLA HOLA familia y amigos! Another week has gone by here in Mexico. I have hit my halfway mark!! YAY! This week was interesting for sure... After last pday, my whole district started feeling sick :( Then later we discovered the whole MTC was feeling sick!? Haha I had heard that for at least one week here in Mexico many times entire districts will get sick. So I guess this was our week lol. There are several different reasons we could’ve been sick. First of all, the water here es no bueno for us to drink and we can get parasites if we drink it (we can only drink filtered water). Second, the cafeteria food is sometimes questionable... many people in my district claimed the tacos we had on Monday were what made them sick. Haha this past week I’ve been sticking to toast and bananas :))) Or third, there could just be a stomach bug going around. I’m hoping it was just a bug and we all feel better next week! Haha gotta love the mission life. Hahah pero esta bien! Also funny story......

Week dos!!!

HEY GUYS!! Another week has gone by at the CCM!! This one went by fast and slow at the same time haha. 2 weeks down, 4 more to go!! On Thursdays here my district gets to do SERVICE!! Haha it was actually pretty fun to get a break from class and to WEAR NORMAL CLOTHES!! We got to clean the comedor this week :) all the Hispanic workers in the CCM are soooo sweet and I am so thankful for all they do! Making food and cleaning the cafeteria for all the missionaries here is hard work! One Elder in my district, Elder Blunt, went home this last week bc of health issues:( It was super sad actually because our whole district has gotten sooo close in just 2 weeks and it feels weird without him. Now we have MORE Hermanas than Elders!! I actually really love my district though! It’s so cool how perfect our group works together and how we all contribute something different. I know we were all put together for a reason and I have learned A LOT from their examples. I also know I was put w...

Week UNO in the MTC!!!

HOLA FAMILIA Y AMIGOS!! I survived my first week in the Mexico CCM!! (CCM stands for Centro de Capitaciones Misional which is Missionary Training Center in EspaƱol) Even though the week felt long at times, I have absolutely LOVED being a missionary!! The Spirit is so strong here and I am SOO pumped to learn all the Spanish I can during these 6 weeks!!  So Tuesday, I flew out of Houston straight to Mexico City. Thankfully I met Elder Butterfield on my flight and we went through customs in the Mexico City together. Then we met about 40 other missionaries at the airport, 10 Hermanas and 30 Elders, and took a 30 minute bus ride to the CCM. The ride through Mexico City was super cool but a little scary at times with all the crazy driving!! The city is SO BIG and crowded with so many people!  Once we got to the CCM I found out that my companion was Hermana Hughes! We actually met each other on Instagram before coming here when we found out that we were going to the same missio...
