Mas Milagros en Mosconi!!
This week was a week de diez!! (10/10) I know that all the milagros we were able to see were really blessings from Heavenly Father and my heart is just filled with gratitude!!!
On Tuesday we had zone conference in Jujuy!! I always love conferences, but this one was a little crazy because we had to wake up at like 4 in the morning to leave for the conference 4 hours away. It was fun to see other missionaries and President and his wife though!! This conference we focused on how we can better teach the restoration to our people and also prepare ourselves personally for General Conference. I hope you are all preparing to celebrate and commemorate our beloved prophet Joseph Smith and the restoration of the gospel of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints this April!!
Then after the conference we went to Oran for exchanges with the hermanas capas (STLs) there! Oran is a town about 2 and 1/2 hours south of Mosconi. It was a little bit more cuidad than Tartagal and I got to work with Hna Biscassi. She is the cutest hna from Brasil and I was able to learn so so much from her!! She goes home this March so she has A LOT more experience in the mission than me. They also had bikes in their area and Hna Biscassi and I got to ride them!! It was actually really fun and we got to places SO MUCH faster than walking… but my butt and thighs are still sore and recovering from biking all over rocky unpaved roads J
We came back to Mosconi on Thursday and had some more amazing lessons with our people. We have been teaching this 15 year old named Ayelen and she is seriously a GOLDEN contact. When we first met her she shared with us some problems she had been having with her dad not having work, her mom being sick, and herself struggling with depression. My heart broke for some of the problems she has been going through. But we were able to share with her how this is the purpose of the restored gospel of Jesus Christ – to allow us to find peace among the problems and struggles we may face in this life. The Spirit was so strong as we shared how much our Padre Celestial loves her and wants her to be happy and return back to Him!! Jesus Christ suffered not only for our sins, but also for our trials, afflictions and tribulations so that we could find joy and peace NO MATTER the circumstances of our lives- I know this is true with all my heart!
Then this weekend we had 2 BAPTISMS WAHOO!!! Saturday we had the baptism of David – the cutest little 11 year old son of Yolanda and Gustavo. It was the happiest day! David was so excited for his baptism on Saturday that his parents said he woke up at 7 am to get ready for his interview. His smile lit up the room during the baptism and and his dad Gustavo was able to attend!! I am just so so happy for their family and hope that soon in the future his parents will be able to follow the example of their son and be baptized as well!
Then we FINALLY had the baptism of Andres!! Haha after a long transfer of teaching and working with him and encouraging him to live the ley de castidad this day finally came! Haha I still can't believe it. Even though preparing 2 people for baptism this past week was a lot of work, getting to finally see Andres and David dressed in all white in the agua participating in the ordinance of baptism was an experience I can't even put into words. Pure joy! It is a privilege getting to be a missionary aqui in Argentina and help people turn their lives around by coming closer to Christ! :)
And then at church we had another milagro – we had 7 people at church! This is a big deal for Mosconi especially because our capilla is so far from Mosconi and it’s a big sacrifice for many of our people to be able to come because they are so poor and don’t have money for the transportation. Thankfully our members are the best and help out where they can. David was able to be confirmed and his dad Gustavo came to church for the first time! I know that this gospel really blesses families and I hope they can recognize the blessings that will come their way from keeping God's commandments.
I know that the restored gospel of Jesus Christ is true. I know that Joseph Smith restored this gospel and we have a living prophet today! I love this gospel and my calling as a missionary with all my heart y estoy intentando a provechar este tiempo en mi vida! Hope you all have a good week and wish me luck going to my last week with the best trainer Hna Folau... Time really flies by when you have the best companion !! ;)
Love and miss you all!!
