Zooommm blesses lives!!!
Hey guys!! Things finally seem to be letting up (a little) here in California! We were able to have a district meeting IN PERSON!! Whaaa - haha idk if it's just been forever since I've been able to see other missionaries or have any social interaction but it was one of the best district councils I've ever had. We actually got to meet all of our zone in person and we are a mix of old/new & reassigned missionaries speaking Spanish, English, and Chinese which is pretty cool.
This week we also had our FIRST ZOOM BAPTISM of Erick!! It was definitely different than anything I've ever experienced before!! I am SO HAPPY for Erick! And he also received the priesthood which I know will be a HUGE blessing for his family. Both his parents were able to come and some members of the ward. Who knew that we would be having baptism social distancing in 2020 with less than 10 people and masks? But one blessing of having it on zoom is that my family was actually able to watch it and be there virtually!! Made me happy to know they were there! And so many members of the ward watched it as well!! I know I've already said this, but the members in this ward are seriously AMAZING!! And they LOVE missionaries which is awesome.
This week we also got a new roommate Sister Ball from Springville Utah!! She's a party and so sweet!! Also one day on one of our daily walks around the block she picked a flower and stuck it in her journal. Then the next day our whole apartment smelled nasty and we figured out it was the flower. Who knew flowers could be so smelly ???!
Sunday I got to give a talk in sacrament. Our ward does this group call thing where we have like a sacrament meeting over the phone with talks and stuff. Anyways so I chose to talk on commitment, something I've been thinking about a lot recently. This gospel is all about our commitment to follow Jesus Christ and His example. And when we keep that commitment we are blessed in so many ways. Some people asked me how I was able to make the decision to come back out after leaving my mission and everyone I loved in Argentina. And I think the choice was easy because I already made the commitment to serve a mission even before I knew I was going to Argentina. I wanted to be a missionary because I love my Heavenly Father and this gospel and that has not changed. Today I hit what would have been 8 months on my mission (counting the month I spent at home) and I can confidently say they have been the best 8 months of my life! I love being a representative of the Lord 24/7 and getting to see how the gospel CHANGES lives! While the world may be a little crazy right now I know we can still and always will be able to find TRUE peace in Christ!!
I love you all & hope you have a good week!!
Con amor,
Hna Tate
