The Gospel is for EVERYONE!!!

Holaaaa!

So this week was a little rougher than most, but we did have a couple of small miracles that happened! And I think pretty much my whole district was having a hard week, so it's kind of nice to know we're all in this together. Not everything is sunshine and butterflies on the mission and that's okay!!

One highlight we did have was we found a new person to teach!! Well I guess I should say she found us! Her name is Rosa and she was a self-referral and had requested a Book of Mormon online!! She said she has always wanted to read this book, but never had the chance. We had a really awesome lesson with her about the Restoration of the gospel and she was so open-minded and accepting of our message!! Her lesson was a tender mercy from the Lord because lately we have been having a hard time with Gerardo. He still is pretty doubtful of the Book of Mormon, even though he has now read a good chunk of it, so getting to teach someone like Rosa was so refreshing!!

We also received 2 other self-referrals that had seen our ads on Facebook!! One lady said she just wanted to learn how to pray and was so sweet over the phone!! I am excited to see where they lead. We also have been able to have some lessons with Erick's (our recent convert) mom this week. We had a powerful lesson where we were bold and asked her exactly what was keeping her from being baptized. She knows a lot about the church and remembers a lot from when the missionaries taught her in the past. She even said there was a time where she was going to church for 6 months with her kids, but had fallen away because of her smoking. She does not want to keep a commit for baptism because she doesn't think she can quit smoking. I got to bear a powerful testimony about how the gospel is for EVERYONE and through the atonement of Jesus Christ we can overcome ANY weakness!! Jesus Christ knows exactly how she feels and WANTS her to come unto Him.  Nancy has so much potential and I hope one day she will be willing to live the Word of Wisdom and be baptized. Not only for herself, but also for her son Erick who is amazing!!

So side note, this week I've really been reflecting on how polar opposite my mission experience was for the first 6 months of my mission to now. Some missionaries are really having a hard time with the fact that we can't go out and find new people by knocking doors and talking to everyone like we used to do. But I've also seen even MORE miracles as the people that are really READY to hear the gospel are GUIDED to us by the hand of the Lord! We used to spend hours everyday walking the streets talking to EVERYONE and only after having 20 or so contacts would we find someone like Rosa who was really ready and excited to hear the gospel! And now as we work hard in other ways by calling members and old investigators and using technology like Facebook, the Lord rewards us by literally handing us people who are golden. He guides them to FIND US! It's pretty incredible and kind of ironic how we really aren't the finders anymore. We are literally just instruments in God's hands.

Anyways other than that we had a pretty low key week! Hope y'all are doing great and know how much the Lord loves you!! I love this gospel and the love being a missionary! ¡Que  tenga una linda semana!

Con amor,
Hna Tate
