The one where we saw a peacock

Hey y'all!

This week was pretty good! Sad to say I think it was actually even slower than last week in the sense that the majority of our lessons fell through... but that's okay! It just made me appreciate the lessons we did have even more!

We had exchanges and interviews this week with President which was fun! We got to go to the mission home which was beautiful! The last time I was in a mission home was the first day I got to Argentina last November. Crazy to think how much has changed since then! Interviews with President Hall were different than any other interview I have been to before, but it was good! Each mission President I've had has been amazing and definitely have each taught me a lot from their own personality and perspective on the gospel. I had exchanges with Sister Santistaban, one of the STLs I live with, and it was cool to learn from her. Even though she doesn't speak Spanish, she was able to bear her testimony to Naty in a powerful and personal way that reminded me of how important it is to really teach PEOPLE and not just lessons.

Rosa is still progressing, which is awesome even though sadly she's busy most of the week so we can only get 1 or 2 appointments in. On Saturday, we had a phone lesson and right as soon as we started teaching her she started talking about baptism which she had read in Mosiah 18 and was so excited when we invited her to be baptized! Hopefully she will continue to progress and we can help her get there! I LOVE her and know she has SO MUCH potential!! Gerardo unfortunately on the other hand says he still doesn't know if what we are teaching him is true. It can be kind of frustrating when our people don't receive answers or recognize them in the ways we want them too, but I know that God works in mysterious ways according to His plan which is PERFECT and always far better than the plans we make for ourselves or our investigators. So Gerardo decided himself that he wanted to take a week break from meeting with us to pray and fast on his own. We, too, have been praying and fasting for him so hopefully he will receive his answer soon!

This week I also hit my 10 month mark and finished reading the Book of Mormon! I feel so accomplished to say that I have now read my favorite book in Spanish :) I love this book with all my heart and want nothing more than to share it with everyone here in Chino!! Yo se que este libro realmente cambia vidas porque ha cambiado MI VIDA! Reading the Book of Mormon daily is ESSENTIAL to not only become converted, but STAY converted to the gospel of Jesus Christ! I am so grateful I still have 8 more months to continue sharing and testifying of the Book of Mormon with everyone I meet!

I can't believe it is already August and summer is almost over! Hope y'all stay safe and have a good week!

Con amor,

Hna Tate
