Hola amigos!!
This week we got transfer news and found out I'm leaving Chino tomorrow! So so sad to leave this area and my companion because it has been amazing :( but all good things must come to an end, right? I have loved all the members, investigators and missionaries in Chino and am so grateful for the opportunity I've had to meet and learn from each one of them. I'm also so sad to be done training Hermana Rawlings, but I know she is going to keep killing it here in Chino! I feel so lucky to have been her companion and know she is one of the reasons I was reassigned to this mission. My new area is in Arcadia close to the mission offices and is called El Monte Arcadia! I have also been called as a Sister Training Leader!! I'm super pumped to get to meet and work with more missionaries and experience a different part of the mission!
It was a pretty good week to finish up my time in Chino! We had more member visits and actually got to eat with some of them in person!! It took me back to my Argentina days when we used to get fed every day by the members and made me realize how much I've really missed that!! It's so nice to get to feel of their love and support in la obra misional and uplift one another!
We also had exchanges with another set of Spanish speaking sisters! I got to go to La Verne with Hermana Hansen who is reassigned from Uruguay so we reminisced about South America!! When I started to speak with my Argentine accent (which I am struggling to keep up sadly because the majority of our members and investigators are from Mexico and DON'T speak Castellano) she was so happy because they had spoken like that in Uruguay!! In my unpopular opinion Castellano Spanish is the BEST way to speak Spanish. For those of you who have no idea what I'm talking about, basically in Argentina everyone pronounces the Ys and LLs with a 'shh' sound instead of a 'y' sound.
We also found a new friend this week!! Or actually I should say he found us!! We got a call last week from a random number and he told us that his name was Marcos and he was looking for missionaries!! We were STOKED as he said they had come by before and taught him lessons but had lost contact. We taught him a couple of phone lessons and will be giving him a Book of Mormon soon!!
Also we HAD CHURCH IN PERSON THIS WEEK!! Ahhh it was outside and only like 30 members were there because the majority of our ward is old, but it was still church!! In person!! It has just been literally 6 MONTHS since I have been to church in person (last time was in Argentina) and so I was pretty excited! I got to finally meet a lot of members in person and give my farewell testimony!
Altogether I am so grateful the time I have spent here in Chino!! It wasn't easy being reassigned but I know that God wanted me here at this specific time so I could meet the people I've met and learn lessons I otherwise wouldn't have learned. Our Heavenly Father really does work in mysterious ways but His plan is perfect for each and every one of us!
I love y'all and hope you have a great week!
