CHEERS TO ONE YEAR!!

 Hola mis muchachos!!

This week was one of the busiest of my life and it was AWESOME!! I've barely had time to breath since I got here to El Monte but that's okay!! First off, I hit my one year mark this week!! One year ago I entered the CCM in Mexico!! It's crazy to think how much has changed in a year!! I don't think my mission has turned out one bit the way I thought it would, but I have been able to see the hand of God in it all!!

My new comp is Hna Diamond and she is probably one of the most charitable people I have ever met. She is constantly thinking of others and loves people with her whole heart and so I am so excited to learn from her!! This is also her last transfer so in missionary terms I will be "killing her" :(( I'm so excited to work hard and make this last one for her count!!

My new area El Monte is FUEGO!! It is very different from Chino because we are in one of the poorer parts of the mission, but there are SO MANY LATINOS HERE!! The majority of our members and friends are willing to meet with us in person and so between street contacting, having in person lessons, and making visits to old investigators, we are rarely home! We basically have no restrictions other than the fact that we have to wear masks everywhere and we cannot knock door to door. Getting back out to normal missionary routines has been one of the greatest blessings because there are even more people out here who are in need and ready to hear our message!! My district is also ALL SPANISH missionaries which is pretty rare here in the States but reminds me of my districts in Argentina! Puro español!! There are a lot of really awesome missionaries in my zone that I am excited to get to serve around!!

We had a couple of miracles this week in finding new people out and about! The day before conference we were at the store getting some last minute things and the cashier asked us if we were missionaries. His name was Carlos and we were super stoked to tell him YES and explain more! He asked if we do baptisms because he has been thinking about "getting one" lately!! I have never had anyone bring up baptism first to us in a contact so that is DEFINITELY a miracle!! We also went to a lot of parks looking for people and found some friends named Juanita and Martin!! Martin had talked to missionaries years before, gone to church, and even went to a temple open house, but had never gotten baptized!! He and his friend Juanita were so open and excited to meet us and it was literally a miracle we were able to find them!! And then miracle number 3 was Alejandro!! He was a friend who had only been taught a couple of times by the sisters in this area before but Hna Dimond and I wanted SO BAD for at least one of our investigators to be able to listen to General Conference with us this past weekend!! He said it was okay for us to come over Sunday morning to watch a session with him, but we got kind of nervous when he didn't answer his phone the night before as we tried to remind him. We went to his house anyways Sunday morning praying he would be awake and I seriously think God unlocked His front gate for us so were able to knock on his front door and watch conference with him!! It was such a tender mercy to me that God really is aware of us and our hard work this week really payed off!! It was also so so neat getting to hear a prophet of the Lord speak alongside an investigator and testify to Alejandro of the truthfulness of their words!! General conference this past weekend really was AMAZING and gave me a lot of comfort and answers that I didn't even know I needed!! May we all truly apply the messages that President Nelson, the 12 apostles, and other authorities shared and truly let God prevail in our lives!!

I know without a doubt this is God's true church here on the earth! It has been restored by Joseph Smith and is led by a living prophet today! I am so excited for these last couple of months of my mission to get lost in the work of the Lord and share this message of peace and comfort!! Love you all!!

Con cariño,
Hna Tate
