El poder del sacerdocio
Hola amigos!!
Another week down!! This week was SO GOOD!! God is SO GOOD!! I don't have a ton of time today because our zone sports took up the majority of my p-day but I'll try to include all the highlights of the week!
On Thursday we had MLC (Mission leadership council) IN PERSON!! Basically MLCs are when the mission leaders get together with our Mission President and we talk about the progress of our mission with focusing on our purpose and achieving the goals we had set before. This MLC was really awesome to listen to President and his ideas for the mission and it really gave me so much motivation to be the best missionary I can be!! I love President Hall and know he has been called to this mission at this specific time by the Lord. It was also so so fun to see missionaries from my last zone in Chino!
This past week was also really awesome for us in FINDING!! We found 5 new people to teach, which may not seem like much in comparison to what I used to be able to find in Argentina haha, but it seriously was such a tender mercy to us!! One of our new investigators is actually from El Salvador and her name is Mayra!! She actually had an aunt in El Salvador that was being taught by the missionaries so she took some of the lessons over there, but since moving here to the states, she hasn't had much contact with missionaries. So it was a miracle we were able to find her at home and have an in person lesson! She actually had a lot of great questions for us and already has a strong relationship with God and loves the Bible!! I know she has so much potential so I just pray we can continue to help her progress!
We also had an amazing experience with one of our investigators named Lorena and her son Fernando. She was actually a referral from one of our members because she had wanted a priesthood blessing for her son. Fernando has been feeling intense pain in his legs and feet and doctors have not been able to diagnose his condition. On Friday we were able to meet in person with them and the elders in our ward and they gave Fernando a blessing of health and Lorena a blessing of comfort. It was one of the most powerful experiences I've ever had on my mission with the priesthood. The spirit was so strong and in the blessing Elder Johnson gave to Lorena he talked about her making covenants with God. She has so much potential and so we will continue to work with her and Fernando to help them better understand that power and grow their faith in Jesus Christ!! I am so excited for them!!
Other than that our week was filled with many meetings and studies and goal setting. But it was awesome!! One of my goals has been to truly deepen the relationship I have with my Savior, especially in these last couple of months of my mission. As a mission we have been reading together in the Book of Mormon and marking ALL the references to the Savior. Even though we just started, it has been so so cool to do. I feel like I have learned so much and I know without a doubt the Book of Mormon is ANOTHER testament of Jesus Christ!! He truly is our Redeemer and Savior and Messiah!! I love being a part of His church and getting to wear His name on my missionary tag everyday!! Life is so good!!
I hope y'all have a great week and remember that the Savior loves you!!
Con amor,
Hna Tate
