Christmas in Cali!!

Image
Hey y'all!!  I just wanted to wish you all a muy FELIZ NAVIDAD!! I hope you all enjoy this special day with those you love and most importantly feel the love our Savior has for you!!  Because of Christmas, my pday was moved to today instead of last Monday!! It has been a CRAZY week and a half!! First off, I got a new companion!! Hermana Valenzuela from Cuidad de Juarez Mexico!! I was SO STOKED when I heard it was her because I lowkey have been struggling with my Spanish and wanted a latina would be able help me lol. Hna Valenzuela actually learned English on the mission so it has been really cool to get to help her with her English while she helps me with my Spanish. We try to speak Spanish as much as we can and it has reminded me of the good old days in Argentina completely submerged in the language. I know she is the companion I have been praying for. Although technically I am training her to be an STL, she has already  taught me so much from her work ethic and e...

Hey y'all!!!  Sooo I honestly don't have much time to write to give a good report of my week today because today has been a crazy p-day but I just wanted to say that my week was really great!!  Some highlights were:  - Yesterday was Hna Webb's bday and we celebrated w some cake!!  - We tried our hardest to share the Christmas message with everyone we saw this week!! Even though LA County has A TON of restrictions now due to a new lockdown COVID order, we were able to share with some of our friends!! We actually met this lady named Cory who watched the Christ Child video after our contact and loved it so much she sent it to her sister in Minnesota!! I love celebrating Christ and sharing the hope and peace of His message!!  - We also got to have a really awesome lesson with the Ortiz family and asked them all to give gifts to the Savior this Christmas. Hailey's gift was to get baptized because she wants the gift of the Holy Ghost!! That literally melted my ...

The one where they got COVID ... quarantine round 2

Hey y'all!!  This week both so much happened and not much happened. Or maybe it just felt that way because we never left our house :) I apologize this one might be a little long ... lo siento  Sooo two Saturdays ago we came home and were eating dinner and I found out I couldn't smell... my companion tried to get me to smell cumin and sadly no matter how many times I tried to smell it I could not. Kinda surreal when your nose is completely clear and you just cant get a whiff of anything. So because that is a sure symptom of COVID we got tested Sunday morning, which in my unpopular opinion wasn't even that bad :) #tendermercy We waited for our results on Monday and came to find out mine came out negative and Hna Webb's came out positive?? Haha that was a plot twist. She then promptly lost her sense of both smell and taste on Monday which did confirm that she probably did have it. But idk why my test was negative?? We called the mission nurse and she told us that we had ...

Hey guys!!  Haha since it has only been about 3 days since I sent my last weekly update, this one won't be too long!  First off, I had an awesome Thanksgiving!! Haha it was nice this year to actually be in a country that celebrates the holiday (lol throwback to Argentina) and to be serving here in El Monte! All the missionaries in our ward were invited to eat dinner with bishop and his family, the Serrano family, and the Perea family. It was very kind of them to invite us and make us feel at home while we are all away from home and missing our families. We all ate some delicious food (it was a mix of traditional Thanksgiving food and Hispanic food) and then went around the room and gave thanks. I gave thanks for everything that has happened this year, the good, the bad and everything in between. I would not be where I am today and have met everyone I've met and learned everything I've learned if it weren't for the trials of this year!! And I know that is ALL thanks to...
