God's love can be felt even on phone calls
Holaaa mis amigos! ¿Que tal?
This week has been kinda of difficult, not going to lie, but I have learned and grown a ton in many ways, especially through the hard weeks of my mission. There is opposition in all things and it is just a testament to me that this is the Lord's work. Salvation is not an easy thing and that is what we are here to do! Bring salvation to as many souls as we can!
The highlight of this week was our new friend Lorena! She was a former investigator who we called and she found out she had corona. We offered to say a prayer with her and she gladly accepted! She also asked us to pray for some other family members and was very sweet and gracious that we would pray with her. We actually ended up calling her everyday this week to pray with her that she and her family members began to get better, and they have! She said she knew it was because of our prayers with her that her family is okay and this was a huge faith builder for her! After beginning to develop her trust we began to teach her and gave her another copy of the Book of Mormon. Although a lot of what we believe in is new to her because she was raised catholic, she is very accepting and open minded to our message. Yesterday she came to church which was just the hugest tender mercy to me to see that she is willing to learn! We had a lesson with her which strengthened my own testimony of the restored gospel. Our testimonies are one of the greatest gifts that God has given to us. They are ours and personal and no one can take them away from us! If you do not have a personal testimony yet of the restored gospel, it is not too late! Seek for one or strive to strengthen the one you already have!
We also after a long week of much rejection and dropping investigators had a neat lesson with another new friend named Maria yesterday. She is someone that referred herself last month to the missionaries but we were never able to get in contact with her. Finally she answered our calls and actually opened up and said that she referred herself because she wanted us to help her son who is struggling. We had a very spiritual lesson over the phone and expressed God's love for her and her son. Never did I think I'd be able to feel the spirit and love for a complete stranger so strong over a phone call. Haha I know our Heavenly Father works in mysterious ways, but He has a great and perfect plan for each one of us.
I have also continued my studies of faith this week and have also been noting the difference between having faith and being faithful. I think it is easy to have faith in Jesus Christ when things are going well, when miracles happen daily, and when things are going the way we want. But the true test of our faith, or the only way the Lord can measure our faithfulness to Him is when we choose to maintain that same vision of faith, confidence, and hope in the Savior in the midst of trial or adversity. When it has not been easy for us to find new people to teach or to help our friends progress, I have strived to increase in my faithfulness to the Lord. I know that He has a plan for me and that I can show Him I will be faithful in all things as I strive to do His will always :) And I know the same is true for each and everyone of us a His children! Be faithful to the Lord especially in the hard times because that is when it counts and can grow our relationship with Him the most.
I am so grateful to be a representative of my Savior Jesus Christ! I hope you all have an awesome week! Love and miss you all!
Con amor,
Hna Tate

A member gave us tamales in banana leaves. Now I don't think I can ever go back to normal tamales.
We had MLC this week and I had to say goodbye to my first friend in this mission - Sister Santisteban!! Cannot believe she is already almost done with her mission! So sad
