¡Tiernas misericordias!
Hey y'all!!
I don't have a
ton of time but I just wanted to highlight some miracles that we were able
to see this week!!
First of all, lately I have been struggling to have an attitude of gratitude and deal with the daily stresses of missionary life, so I decided to take more time to thank God for the tender mercies of each day. And it has made a HUGE difference!! I have been able to recognize the Lord's hand in my life daily and see the miracles that He has blessed me with. Our personal tender mercies may not seem huge or mean that much to others, but they are simple ways that we can recognize and feel of God's love in our lives!
This week we found a lady named Mercedes!! We were actually looking for a member's house but we could not figure out which one was the right house. So we basically went tracking and knocking/ contacting from door to door looking for Hermana Rosalina. And Mercedes was her next door neighbor and actually turned out to be interested! We actually felt like normal missionaries knocking from door to door and it was so much fun! Mercedes actually showed a desire to be baptized in our first lesson with her, but wants to continue to learn the doctrine before we set her on date. Finding her was a miracle!! We taught her about the restoration and wow it was an amazing lesson. She actually understood about Joseph Smith being called as a prophet and at the end said she felt everything we shared with her was true. Moments like that where finally someone not just lets us teach them but actually understands the message are priceless. I am so grateful for the Restoration and that I have the opportunity to share this unique message!
We also have continued to teach Blanca and now her husband and they actually came to church on Sunday!! FINALLY this Sunday we returned back to having our ward in person (still outside in the parking lot sadly) and so this week we really focused on inviting our friends to church. Sunday morning came and we called Blanca to remind them about church and they didn't answer. So we headed to visit them and as soon as we got to their apartment in our car, Blanca and Wilbur walked out the door with their daughter Ashley in her stroller all ready for church. It was the most beautiful sight. Haha. We also had an amazing lesson with them last night and Blanca and Wilbur prayed to know if they should be baptized! It was a powerful prayer and the spirit was very strong in that lesson. They still have a lot of things to learn and to overcome before baptism but I'm so excited to continue to teach them and help them progress!!
Also on Friday we FINALLY had some COVID restrictions lifted... and now we can teach friends in person outside, have exchanges, and do zone activities outside!! That was the best news of the week. We got to teach Mercedes and Blanca and Wilbur in person and it was awesome. There is something special about getting to feel the spirit together in the same place physically :)
Overall, I am so grateful for all the miracles that the Lord has blessed us with this week! I love this work and I know that this is where the Lord wants me to be right now. I know that as we make the effort to notice and thank Heavenly Father for the daily blessings big and small that He gives us, we will be filled with gratitude and begin to understand the goodness and love of God! Look and give thanks to the Lord this week for your daily tender mercies :)
Que tengan todos una bonita semana!
con amor,
